About the Author / Cartoonist
Paul Sandip is an acclaimed Industrial designer, 4 times TEDx speaker, winner of the prestigious Red Dot Design Award twice, recipient of the “Designpreneur” title from Shri Narendra Modi and an Editorial Cartoonist. He has designed over 1000+ innovative products for his clients across 20 countries using his technique “Innovation by Observation”. He is a distinguished alumni of the National Institute of Design, NID Ahmedabad. Paul was awarded as the “Best Cartoonist of the Year 2000” by Nagpur University. He started professional cartooning at the age of 14. His cartoons stem from his observations of everyday life. He got his first break as a short story writer & illustrator with The Statesman, Kolkata. Later, while pursuing engineering studies he worked as a part-time sub-editor with Lokmat Times, Nagpur. This is where he got the opportunity to start his own daily Pocket cartoon column “Not as you see! – by Sandip” He has also worked as a freelance cartoonist with The Happening Nagpur, The Hitavada and Times of India. Paul Sandip uses his observational skills to both innovate as well as create humour.

TEDx Talk : The Incredible Power of Observation
Paul Sandip in his 4th TEDx Talk shared the Incredible Power of Observation through his illustrated talk at Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Pune. He shared the journey of the observer behind the creator with a live audience on 20 Sept 2024. The session was followed by a quick book signing event.
